Outreach & Engagement

LANI believes that community members have deep knowledge about their own needs and what improvements would make their neighborhoods better.

We are committed to facilitating collaborative, respectful, and productive relationships between the many stakeholders and decision-makers involved in neighborhood improvement projects.

Investing in substantive community engagement is a critical component towards improving quality of life, achieving greater equity, and empowering Angelenos to build the future they want for their communities.

All LANI projects are grounded in community engagement and specifically aimed to increase safety, equity, health, and prosperity for the people who live, work, and learn in LANI neighborhoods.

We engage the widest possible spectrum of interested parties, including seniors and youth, tenants and property owners, local business owners and employees, non-profit organizations and community-based organizations, and existing and emerging community leaders. Engaged stakeholders help us reach even deeper into the community via neighborhood councils, religious institutions, block clubs, sports leagues, and other formal and informal affiliations. Using this persistent, tiered approach, LANI builds relationships that result in broad, deep, and genuine community engagement.
