As an integral part of the organization for over twelve years, Veronica’s breadth of experience includes project development and management, extensive community outreach and contract management. Her particular areas of strength include economic development, community development and outreach as well as contract compliance and strategic planning.
Rebecca Draper is the Director of Neighborhood Improvement Projects at LANI. She has worked in the community development field for the past fifteen years. She currently oversees LANI’s Program Managers who work on numerous improvement projects throughout Los Angeles County. This work includes meaningful community engagement, conceptual planning, design development and implementation.
Sian Leong has a successful history in fund development including grant writing, major donor cultivation and stewardship, event planning and campaign management. Over her fifteen years in fundraising she has successfully raised more than $25 million in contributions and grant revenues.
Anna Apostolos has over 30 years of experience managing transportation and transportation-related projects, as well as economic revitalization and urban green spaces. She has successfully worked on numerous projects throughout the Southern California region.
Tanya Hahni provides administration support to all LANI staff. She has a long history of working in communities as an educator and is dedicated to the field of project development.
Arturo Nevarez is a Program Manager at LANI and is responsible for projects varying from sidewalk reconstruction to façade redevelopment projects in underserved communities in the City of Los Angeles. Arturo has an extensive background working with non-profit advocacy organizations, labor unions, and most recently, the State Legislature. He enjoys using research and policy advocacy as tools to promote equity among impacted communities of color. Arturo was born in Boyle Heights and raised in the City of Maywood.
Monica Carlos Tellalian
A part of the LANI team since 2002, Monica has almost 20 years of experience in community and economic development, with expertise in both the public and nonprofit sectors. She created and implemented LANI’s Inaugural Community Forum and the LANI Maintenance Matching Fund Program. Monica works hands-on with community members helping them to identify and prioritize improvements and she has overseen planning and construction projects.
