Completed Projects: South Robertson Village Streetscape Project

This project centered on a section of South Robertson Boulevard characterized by high volume, high speed traffic, deteriorating sidewalks and curbs and poorly lit storefronts. This largely commercial corridor is also an important public transit route populated with numerous bus stops and benches. Through initial funding, LANI assisted the South Robertson Village community in developing a work plan detailing area demographics, assets, need and priorities.

Funding to implement a portion of the community determined improvement priorities was secured through the federally funded Transportation Enhancement Act. The funding was used to enhance transit stops with lighted shelters, trash receptacles and new benches. Another high priority need identified through the work plan led to the installation of new pedestrian lighting throughout the project corridor. Finally, the project made much needed repairs to sidewalks and curbs through the area greatly enhancing the appearance and safety of the corridor.
